Episode 20 of the Skiddle.com Weekends Matter podcast is now available for your listening pleasure In this episode we focus on a club night that was started back in 1993 by a sheep farmer! Hard Times celebrates its 19th birthday this Sunday with Louie Vega who has kindly provided us with a mix. Hard Times was started by Steve Raine in Mirfield, Yorkshire and has since moved to various cites including Huddersfield and Leeds as well as hosting one off nights in London. Known for pioneering the US house sound the list of DJ's who have played is endless but includes Roger Sanchez, Todd Terry, David Morales, Frankie Knuckles and Masters at Work. Louie Vega One half of Masters at Work, Louie Vega, will be helping the birthday celebrations at The Warehouse. A DJ for over 30 years he was a regular guest at Hard Times and released the US house classic ‘The Hard Times March’ alongside Kenny Dope under their ‘200 Sheep’ alias on the Hard Times label in 1995. Tickets are still available for the Hard Times birthday on Sunday night at The Warehouse in Leeds. Episode 19 of the Skiddle.com Weekends Matter podcast is now available for your listening pleasure In this episode we focus on a festival that started life in 1998 and has since entertained millions of clubbers across the world. Creamfields first festival was in Winchester 14 years ago but it soon found its spiritual home just outside Liverpool. It's now held every August Bank Holiday with a premier line up of the electronic dance music elite. This year Tiesto, David Guetta, Calvin Harris and Deadmau5 are all exclusive to the festival and they join Chemical Borthers, Skrillex and this weeks guest DJ, Jordan Suckley, for 3 days in Daresbury, Cheshire. Jordan Suckley was chosen as best breakthrough dj/producer by DJ Mag in 2009 and has never looked back. He has a monthly radio show on Radio 1 and travels the world spreading his trademark trance sound. He will be playing at Creamfields on Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th August and most recentlky rocked the Skiddle tent at Wickerman Festival.
