As a DJ Sonny shot to fame by winning a DJMag mix-tape competition for Renaissance leading to sets in Ibiza at Amnesia, a weekly residency at the infamous Manumission and Mixmag announcing Sonny as one of their original “Future Heroes” alongside the likes of Nic Fanciulli. Over the last few years Sonny’s racked up slots for the who’s who of club land including sell-out shows at Space, Pacha and Ministry Of Sound. He’s held a monthly residency in Barcelona, regualrly rocks the likes of Global Gathering, V Festival, Wickerman and Isle Of Wight Festival and played to over 1 million people at The Berlin Love Parade. In addition to this Sonny has done no less than 3 guest mixes for Radio 1 as well as countless live interviews. His label, Whartone Records, as well as being a hub for his solo releases has also released tracks from Paul Thomas, Mark Trophy, Ant Brooks and Richard Dinsdale. Sonny will be playing at Venus in Manchester on Saturday 5th May, at the Ibiza Skiddle Social on Weds 23rd May and at Basscamp at Wickerman Festival on Saturday 21st July The podcast also features our guide to the top five events happening across the UK this weekend.
